Frogs in the School

Here in my sack, right here on my back,
I carried some frogs from the stream.
My mother and father were there eating breakfast –
They said, “Go and get your hands clean.”
I put down my pack, I turned my back –
Suddenly, I heard my dad scream “Hey!”

Chorus

“Frogs in the house, get them out!
Frogs in the house, hoppin’ about
Frogs in the house, Hey, whad’ you do?
Frogs in the house, what’s the matter with you?
Froggie, froggie, green and brown – Hoppin’ up and hoppin’ down
Froggie, froggie, without a doubt . . . collect those frogs and get them out!”

I put them back, back in my sack and I started out walking to school
I brought them along, didn’t think it was wrong,
I didn’t want to break any rules.
Well, I put down my pack and I turned my back –
I heard the teacher go, “Ugh!”

Chorus

I put them back, back in my sack and I got on the bus to go home
I sat in the back all by myself, I just wanted to be alone
Well, I put down my pack and I turned my back –
I heard the bus driver groan “Oh no!”

Chorus

I put them back, back in my sack
And I got off the bus at the store
I wanted to buy myself something to eat
So I put my pack down on the floor
Well, I put down my pack and I turned my back –
I heard the storekeeper roar, “Hey!”

Chorus

I put them back, back in my sack
And I walked my way down to the pond
I said, “It’s been nice, but now thinking twice
I think it’s best you be gone
Well, I put down my pack and I turned my back –
Suddenly I heard a big splash… at last!

Chorus

Frogs in the pond, swimming away
Frogs in the pond, hip hip hooray
Frogs in the pond – I’ll see you later
Frogs in the pond – I’ll see you later, alligator!
